International Rally

June 2005

Syd "Navigator" and I rode up from Plymouth. Clive "Spanner" was unable to attend due to an illness in the family.

The rest of the Pirates met up at Taunton Deanne services, and after a coffee and fuel break, we were on our way again. After one more stop for fuel and drinks we arrived at the rally site mid afternoon, and we soon had every thing sorted.

The Rally was well organised, food was good and hot, and the live bands went down well. it went cold at night and most of us felt it the first night.

Saturday some of our group went into town to watch the carnival, though I have heard that "navigator" was the centre of attraction due to the "fish" headgear!

It was good to meet up with old friends again, with all the usual banter.

In no time at all, we were packing up our stuff ready for the ride home, and saying our goodbyes.

Still we come away with the award for the highest number of members from one club in attendance, and John Cude won the raffle prize of £400 of Yamaha Parts.

We all arrived home safe and sound, after a great weekend, hope David and dawn from Lynton enjoyed their first rally.

A sad end to the rally was Russel's Julie taking ill in the early hours of sunday morning. She passed away later that day. Obviously all our thoughts are with Russel at this time
